ThinkGO consumer health data privacy policy
This policy is for residents of Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and other US states whose laws protect consumer health data, such as Washington's My Health My Data Act. It adds to the ThinkGO privacy policy (https://thinkgo.app/privacy), which applies to everyone.
ThinkGO is made by an independent developer ("we", "us"); the developer's name is shown as the seller on ThinkGO's App Store page. Contact: info@thinkgo.app.
What "consumer health data" means here
These laws treat broadly as health data any information that identifies someone and relates to their physical or mental health, including information showing that someone uses a mental-health or wellbeing app. Because ThinkGO is about thoughts, mood and emotions, we treat the data below as consumer health data.
Consumer health data that stays with you
Everything you write, rate or record in ThinkGO, including mood logs, feelings, exercise answers, check-in answers and scores, safety answers, and anything read from or written to Apple Health, stays on your devices and in your own iCloud. We do not collect it, see it, or have access to it.
Consumer health data we collect, only with your consent
| Category | What exactly | Source | Purpose | Shared with |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| App use | That you use ThinkGO, which screens and buttons you use, purchases (product, price, currency) | The app, if you turn on Product analytics | Understanding and improving the app | Google (Firebase Analytics), PostHog, as our processors |
| Exercise use | Which exercise template you opened or finished, a rounded duration, a rounded count of skipped steps, which reminder kinds you set | The app, if you also turn on Exercise usage | Learning which exercises are finished and which are dropped | Google (Firebase Analytics), PostHog, as our processors |
| Crash data | Crash log, device model, iOS and app version, the open screen | The app, if you turn on Crash reports | Fixing crashes | Google (Firebase Crashlytics), as our processor |
All three are off until you turn them on, in setup or in Settings › Privacy & security. Each is a separate choice. None of them includes your answers, ratings, moods, feelings or text.
Our ads are measured with Apple's private ad measurement (AdAttributionKit and SKAdNetwork). If you turn on Product analytics, and only then, the app reports how far you got (opened, onboarding finished, paywall seen, trial started, subscribed, trial converted) to Apple. Apple sends the ad network these reports after a delay, with no identifier, and limits how much detail they contain when few people installed from the same ad, so they can't be linked to you or your device. No answer, mood, focus area or exercise is ever part of them. Separately, whatever your settings, Apple may report to the ad network that one of our ads led to your install, and may send us a copy; ThinkGO sends nothing for it. That report says nothing about your health, so it is not consumer health data.
Apple also sends us a notice whenever a trial or subscription starts, renews, changes, ends or is refunded, whatever your settings: the product, price, currency, App Store country, the dates and Apple's number for that subscription. It holds no name, e-mail address or Apple ID, so we can't tell who it is about. We use it only to keep track of our sales, as the privacy policy describes, and delete it after 24 months.
We do not sell consumer health data, share it with third parties other than the processors named above, use it for advertising, or use geofencing around health care facilities.
Your rights
You can:
- withdraw consent at any time in Settings › Privacy & security; sending stops at once
- ask whether we hold your consumer health data, and get a list of the processors and third parties it was shared with
- ask us to delete it; in the app, Settings › Data › Delete all data deletes your entries and resets the analytics identifiers, and you can write to us to delete data already sent
- appeal a decision about your request by replying to our answer with "appeal"; if we refuse the appeal, you may contact your state attorney general
Write to info@thinkgo.app. We answer within 45 days. Because the data we hold carries no name, we may ask for the app's random identifier to find it; we'll explain how.
Changes
We update the date above when this policy changes and ask in the app before collecting anything new.
